Kelly, you are a well known leader in the Direct Selling Industry, why did you develope a generic network marketing training system?

Attrition is and always has been an issue in this industry and I can’t control it or stop it. When you have a huge organization it’s impossible to know everyone on your team and the reality is you may only know 1 % or less.

So the masses don’t get the training, the coaching or the mentoring they need. I wanted to create something to help the masses not just in my business but worldwide in this great industry. This is my passion and there are good people struggling in their businesses right now. Having the right training and a system will help them build their business and put themselves and their teams in a position to succeed. 

I know what a good mentor can do.  I was struggling when I first started and made all the mistakes most people make.  I was about to quit until I was trained by my mentor.  It took me from a few thousand dollars in earnings to over one million in one year.  I have now put all of that and so much more into this training so people can avoid the mistakes I made and succeed faster and bigger than they ever thought possible.

How does your system reduce attrition in the industry?

People make money, but systems create wealth.  Personalities are not duplicable but a system is.  Most people that get into Network Marketing don’t have the skill set to contact everyone they know and present their products, opportunity, take rejection, overcome objections, invite people to meetings, follow up, follow through, enroll people and then train them.

Infinitus China to Take 12700 People to Thailand

Direct selling company Infinitus China is set to organize a gigantic tour group of 12,700 people to Thailand, a move that will smash the record set by another Chinese firm which sent 6,400 of its employees on a grand vacation to France earlier this month.

Infinitus will book 110 flights and 400 coaches for the trip, which is estimated to bring to Thailand a tourism income of 600 million baht (US17.89 million), Apple Daily reported Thursday.

The firm, a mainland subsidiary of Hong Kong-based food giant Lee Kum Kee, is said to be arranging the six-day tour of Bangkok and Pattaya as part of a rewards scheme for its employees.

Juthaporn Rerngronasa, head of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, told local media that the Infinitus employees will arrive in batches of 2,000 to 3,000 people from May 10 to 26. A total of 38,000 hotel room nights have been booked in select four-star and five-star hotels.

Thai coordinators of the tour group are also hiring 36 vessels that could accommodate up to 400 each for a cruise on scenic Chao Phraya River which flows through Bangkok and into the Gulf of Thailand.

Juthaporn revealed that the Infinitus tour group could make up for some of the losses in tourism dollars resulting from the drop in the number of Russian visitors amid the depreciation of the rouble.

She said the mainland firm is already setting its sights on organizing a tour of 20,000 people to Thailand next year.

Earlier this month, Tiens Group of Chinese tycoon Li Jinyuan sponsored a four-day vacation in Paris and Nice for 6,400 of its employees to celebrate the company’s 20th anniversary.

ASEA Raises $30000 Towards Nepal Relief Efforts

The newly established ASEA Advancing Life Foundation has raised nearly $30000 towards relief efforts in Nepal. In a span of two weeks, approximately $20000 was raised through ASEA associates and an additional $10000 was donated by ASEA Corporate.

Youngevity Q1 2015 Revenues Increase To $36.8 million

Youngevity International, Inc. First Quarter 2015 Highlights:

  • Net Revenue increased 39.4% over the prior year period to $36.8 million;
  • Gross Profit increased 28.1% to $20.3 million compared to the prior year period;
  • Adjusted EBITDA was $1.3 million, compared to $1.7 million in the prior year period;

  • Entered into two acquisitions during the first quarter.

QNET Convention draws 14,500 to Malaysia

Prominent Asian Direct Selling Company, QNET’s annual convention V-Malaysia 2015 opened today in the island of Penang in Malaysia to the sound of African and Asian drums amid crowds of lively people in colorful attire.

The sold out convention with a record-breaking 14,500 distributors of QNET from around the world converged at the Subterranean Penang International Conference & Exhibition Centre (SPICE).

Javita Gives Incentive Winners A Trip Of A Lifetime

Seventy-two qualifying Members and their guests from the US & Canada returned from Javita's second annual incentive trip to Cancun, Mexico on Sunday.

The May Incentive Trip marked the company's second trip to Cancun, with nearly double the amount of Members qualifying in comparison to last year's trip, and triple the amount of attendees, a great demonstration of the company's growth.

Avon’s Fake ‘Takeover’ Shows Poor State Of Company

Avon is an iconic American company that has been around for nearly 130 years. But Avon is struggling. And there's not enough makeup in the world to make it more attractive.

Things have gotten so bleak for Avon (AVP) that investors actually pushed the stock higher Thursday following a report of a takeover offer … that turned out to be fake. 

An entity calling itself PTG Capital filed a letter with the SEC claiming that it wanted to buy Avon for $18.75 a share — nearly triple what the stock was trading at on Wednesday. 

Shares surged as much as 20% shortly after news of the filing started to spread. But traders and financial reporters quickly poked holes in the "offer." 

The filing had typos in it. PTG was referred to as TPG on two occasions. (TPG is an actual private equity powerhouse.) 

Phone calls to the London number for PTG's general counsel went straight to voicemail. Google searches turned up no evidence of PTG or the Trose & Cox law firm listed in the filing. 

The stock was halted several times and Avon eventually put out a press release saying that there was no offer and that it could not verify the existence of PTG. 

Shares then fell from their highs but still gained 6% for the day — on five times the average trading volume. The stock fell more than 1% Friday morning. 

The SEC had no comment about how someone could actually get a bogus filing into its system. 

Regardless of who's behind the hoax, the sad fact is that Avon was susceptible to it in the first place. 

Avon had the chance to sell itself for real three years ago. But it turned down bids from rival cosmetics company Coty (COTY). 

The last offer for Coty valued Avon at $24.75 — nearly 25% higher than this week's fictitious offer. 

Saying no to Coty turned out to be a huge mistake. 

Avon stock is now hovering around $7. Sales have fallen for the past three years and are expected to be lower again this year. The company has also lost money for the past three years. 

Avon has struggled to adapt. Who needs Avon Ladies ringing your doorbell when you can buy cosmetics for a lower price online or at your local drugstore? 

It even got kicked out of the S&P 500 index earlier this year because its market value was too small. Avon had been in the blue chip index since 1964. 

You could argue that the only reason Avon is still culturally relevant today is because the company is part of a plot line on the latest season of "Mad Men." But that show takes place in 1970. 

Maybe Avon will turn things around. Being an "old" company doesn't have to mean that you are doomed. After all, the company that replaced Avon in the S&P 500 was HanesBrands (HBI) — which was founded in 1901. 

But investors are not optimistic. The company's best days are clearly behind it and the market obviously wants Avon to try and sell itself — assuming there is a real company out there that wants to buy it.

Stella & Dot Founders Launch Skincare Line

Since costume jewelry line Stella & Dot launched in 2003, it has grown into a massively popular mega-brand and changed the way we think about social selling programs. Now, with the launch of Ever, its much-anticipated anti-aging skincare line, the company is branching into the beauty world in a big way.

She sought to create a luxurious skin-care line with a natural bent that was backed by clinical results. Her move into the beauty realm was aided by the addition of Leslie Blodgett, executive chairman of Bare Escentuals, who joined Stella & Dot’s board in 2011.

The result is a formula that relies on LSR10, a magnolia-based bioactive complex designed to reduce the signs of aging and inflammation. The 12 items in the line are free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, propylene glycol, hydroquinone, chemical sunscreens and synthetic fragrances and colors. The product regimen, which is designed to last 60 days, is said to deliver measurable results within a month.

Ever is the third category pillar in Herrin’s business. She launched Keep Collective, a charm bracelet concept, in August last year.

First Quarter Financial Highlights

  • Total revenues increased 63.2% to $17,198,940, compared to $10,536,402 in the first quarter last year. The company has deferred revenue of $389,672 versus $171,885 in the comparable quarter of 2014.
  • Gross Profit for the quarter increased to $13,005,739 compared to $7,977,397 and Gross Profit Margins held stable at 75.6%.
  • Operating income was $411,813 compared to $267,002 during the quarter in 2014, a 54% increase.
  • Net income increased 85.2% to $335,378 or $0.01 EPS, versus $181,052 or $0.01 EPS, in Q1 2014. Net income margins increased slightly to 1.9% from 1.7%.
  • Net cash provided by operating activities was $186,356 for the quarter compared to $193,016 in net cash used during Q1 2014.
  • Total assets increased to $8,369,859 at March 31, 2015 compared to $7,709,633 at December 31, 2014. Total liabilities for the first quarter of 2015 were $8,442,538 compared to $8,086,341 at year end 2014.
  • The company currently has no long term debt. As of March 31, 2015, the Company has $1.5 million in debt with a due date of December 31, 2015. Management anticipates it will satisfy these notes payable through increased revenues or negotiation of new payment due dates.

First Quarter Highlights

During the first quarter of 2015, the company experienced exciting updates and international expansion that included:

  • Trackable shipping in North America
  • Rapid growth in Australia, New Zealand and Oceania
  • New growth and leadership development in the Middle East and Africa

Medifast Projects $74 Million Revenues in Q2

Weight-loss and healthy living products company Medifast that recently announced first quarter financial results is expecting a strong second half.

"We felt very good about where we ended up the first quarter and we're projecting $0.47 in earnings in the second quarter even though we anticipate that our average advertising spend will be higher going forward," MacDonald says.

The consensus estimate of many analysts is for the company to earn $0.45 a share in its second quarter. On the top line, Medifast said it expects revenue to be $72 million to $74 million, above the Wall Street forecast of $71 million.

In order to hit its second-quarter targets, MacDonald is counting on a turnaround in the company's direct sales channel, which experienced a revenue decrease of 9% to $52.1 million in 2015's first quarter compared with $57.0 million last year.

"We've been building our network of health coaches back. We had lost about 1,000 coaches in 2014," MacDonald says. "We have a process now to increase our recruiting and sponsoring in our health coach channel."

Medifast ended the first quarter with about 10,500 active health coaches and the revenue per health coach on average each month was just $1,564 compared with $1,626 in the first quarter of 2014.

The company's direct channel revenue decreased 16% to $14.4 million in the first quarter compared with $17.1 million in the prior year. MacDonald anticipates improvement in that area, however. "We are getting good retention results once people enter the program and we are seeing that as a strong opportunity for us," he says.

At Medifast's 70 weight control centers, revenue increased 31% to $4.7 million in the first quarter from $3.6 million last year. "You get the most weight loss in a franchise center," MacDonald claims. "Our franchisees are experienced professionals."

Finally, MacDonald says the recent health wristband craze, that encompasses the Apple Watch, will complement Medifast's products not compete with them.

"Our food causes your weight loss," MacDonald says. "We don't see that competing with us because we are not a meeting model."
